FAQs
How long does wood take to season to be ready to burn?
In Canterbury we are privileged to have optimum drying conditions with the North West winds and long hot summer weather. Firewood can season and be ready to burn in 3 to 6 months for pine and 9 to 12 months for bluegum. This will depending on weather and wood species. We carefully test our firewood with a moisture meter to ensure moisture levels are perfect before delivery.
Do I need to be home for deliveries?
No, it is not necessary to be at home, We do however ask if you can advice us of any animals (for example dogs) on the property that we should be aware of. We need to be able to access your driveway or delivery location safely and want to make sure we don't leave gates open so animals escape.
What days do you deliver?
We deliver Monday to Friday excluding public holidays, we may deliver on weekends for an additional fee. We will let you know what timeslot we have available.
How do you ensure firewood is dry as per your ads?
Our firewood’s moisture content is carefully measured to ensure appropriate moisture levels. Ecan's stipulation for dry firewood is under 25% moisture, we generally like ours to get down to between 14% to 18% for optimal burning.
How is Woodfella firewood dried?
